Purpose: Students will demonstrate an introductory understanding of San Francisco history, how Native Americans, Spanish and Mexicans once occupied the Bay Area before English-speaking immigrants, and how their cultures and people still contribute to its present day community, as exemplified through the celebration of Mexican Independence Day.
