Purpose: This module is intended for incorporation in the 6th grade Ancient Civilizations curriculum, as a supplementary unit encouraging an understanding of daily life in the Neolithic as understood by archaeologists, through active, hands-on learning. it is designed to encourage the students to think about the idea that the most important resources in our daily lives often lie very close and that ugly things in archaeology often provide wonderful information about the past. It encourages a constructivist view of history by showing how archaeologists rarely come up with a definite interpretation of what we excavate but have to consider many different interpretations.
