| Candace goes from Bowie to Nickel Creek. Nickel Creek is a great great great new young bluegrass band playing, mostly, but not exclusively, instrumentals. Special note: Chris Thile is a mando phenom. Sara and Sean Watkins are great musicians. And they're, like, you know, really, just so young and, like, so cute.
See, I really am in the know, right?
How do I know about Nickel Creek? Peter Thompson's Bluegrass Signal, Saturdays, 6:30-8:00 pm, KALW, 91.7. The perfect show to cook Saturday night dinner to, if you're home for the night.
In my infinite wisdom, I command you, loyal reader, to listen to Bluegrass Signal every Saturday night to receive your weekly dose, to partake of your communion, to recieve your vaccination of that unique American art form, bluegrass, the perfect antidote to crappy music; jazzy, folksy, or spiritual, from blazing hot to mellow and wise, it's oldtime, all right, upstanding, outtasite, tasty, steaming, acoustic art.
I have also heard from a very reliable source that KALW will be webcasting very soon.
Raymond is now a hotblogger. Since he got off his buns he is relishing this experience. As an occasional blogger he has had a lot of ketchuping to do, and I suppose this put him in a bit of a pickle. For awhile his blog has been on the backburner, but now that he's turned up the heat his posts are sizzling. I hope his posting doesn't chili off and turn to sauerkraut. He knows, of course, that this time around is not his onion only shot, but now that he's got a streak of fourteen days going I wonder if he can do olive the rest of October. I think he's finding that it's really soda easy to do, that even when the chips are down he can still find a little time to make a link or two, and so far he's really grinding them out. And many of his posts are all beef, no filler. Oh cheese, I've run out of puns.
Mmmm, hot dogs...
